Table 2 presents <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> published papers for each year and for each business school. In <strong>the</strong>
first half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> period examined, <strong>the</strong> two faculties were quite equal with regard to <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong>
publications. However, in 2005 <strong>the</strong> FE UL significantly “accelerated” and this was especially true for
<strong>the</strong> last two years <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> period examined.

* Active researchers are those who published at least one article in <strong>the</strong> period examined.
The share <strong>of</strong> active researchers at <strong>the</strong> three faculties barely exceeds one half, which means that
almost one half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> researchers employed did not have even one article published in a journal from
<strong>the</strong> SCI/SSCI database in <strong>the</strong> ten-year period examined. However, such share differs greatly
according to faculty. While almost two thirds <strong>of</strong> researchers at <strong>the</strong> FE UL are active researchers, <strong>the</strong>
share at FM UP amounts to only one third. For <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> comparison, we also calculated <strong>the</strong>
number <strong>of</strong> articles per active researcher, according to which <strong>the</strong> FM UP was <strong>the</strong> most successful, with
its few active researchers being, in relative terms, <strong>the</strong> most productive. The 307 published papers
were published in a range <strong>of</strong> 132 different journals from <strong>the</strong> SCI/SSCI database. The researchers
published only one article in 73 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se journals, while in <strong>the</strong> remaining 59 journals <strong>the</strong>y published at
least 2 articles. Table 4 presents <strong>the</strong> journals in which <strong>the</strong> researchers most frequently published.
Those journals are listed in which researchers published at least 6 articles in <strong>the</strong> period examined.
