The purpose <strong>of</strong> table 1 is to identify similarities in organizational culture between departments, which
could suggest influences on knowledge sharing behavior. The observations are generalized to
compare organizational culture between <strong>the</strong> departments, where <strong>the</strong>se generalized observations
originate from <strong>the</strong> descriptions <strong>of</strong> organizational culture per dimension per department.

Table 2 was created to identify contrasting behaviors in knowledge sharing, distinguishing between
<strong>the</strong> five aspects <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> knowledge sharing process. Examples <strong>of</strong> differences in knowledge sharing
behavior that were found are <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> coordinating knowledge, <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> reciprocal
knowledge sharing and <strong>the</strong> approach <strong>of</strong> locating knowledge. After identifying both concepts, attempts
were made in order to relate <strong>the</strong> differences in knowledge sharing behavior to corresponding
differences found in <strong>the</strong> organizational culture <strong>of</strong> departments. The results <strong>of</strong> this process are shown
in table 3.
