values for the statistical significance was below 0.05.
Experiment Results
To analyse the data obtained in the experiment we compare the SSL proxy results against the NULL
proxy results, then we obtain the statistical significance of those results, to highlight where are a
significant improvement gain.
The figures 2, 3 and 4 show the comparison between the number of successful connections between
the null proxy and the SSL proxy. The results of the null proxy (figure 2) are significantly better (more
successful connections) than the results with the SSL proxy (figure 3). The figure 4 shows the
difference between both configurations (null proxy configuration connections less SSL proxy
configuration connections) where we can appreciate that the values are mostly all the time positive
(null proxy configuration has more successful connections than SSL proxy configuration).

The figures 7,6 and 5 show the comparison between the successful average times. The results of the
null proxy (figure 5) are significantly better (smaller average times) than the results with the SSL proxy
(figure 6). The figure 7 shows the difference between both configurations, the values of the SSL proxy
configuration less the values of the null proxy configuration. As far as we see in the figure 7 all the
values are bigger than zero, that mean that all the responses of the ssl configuration take more time
to get back a response.
