ness and sin and blasphemy and violence in all kinds <strong>of</strong> deeds<br />

will increase, and apostasy and transgression and uncleanness<br />

increase, a great chastisement <strong>from</strong> heaven will come upon<br />

them all, and the holy Lord will come forth with wrath and<br />

chastisement to execute judgment on earth. 8. In those<br />

days violence will be cut <strong>of</strong>f <strong>from</strong> its roots and the roots<br />

<strong>of</strong> unrighteousness, together with deceit, and they will be<br />

destroyed <strong>from</strong> under heaven. 9. And all the idols <strong>of</strong> the<br />

heathen will be abandoned : the temples will be burned with<br />

fire and they will be removed <strong>from</strong> the whole earth, and they<br />

(i.e. the heathen) will be cast into the judgment <strong>of</strong> fire and<br />

will perish in wrath and in grievous eternal judgment. 10.<br />

And the righteous one will arise <strong>from</strong> sleep and wisdom will<br />

arise and be given unto them. [11. And after that the<br />
