hopeful ye that die in righteousness. 5. And grieve not if<br />

your soul descends in grief into Sheol, and that in your life<br />

your body has not fared as your goodness deserved but truly<br />

as on a day on which ye became like the sinners, and on a day<br />

<strong>of</strong> cursing and chastisement. 6. And when ye die the<br />

sinners speak over you :<br />

' As we die, so die the righteous, and<br />

what benefit do they reap <strong>from</strong> their deeds ? 7. Behold, even<br />

as we, so do they die in grief and darkness, and what advantage<br />

have they over us ? <strong>from</strong> henceforth we are equal. 8. And<br />

what will they receive and what will they see for ever? for<br />

behold they too have died, and <strong>from</strong> henceforth for ever they<br />

will see no light/ 9. I tell you, ye sinners, ye are content<br />

to eat and drink and strip men naked, and rob and sin and<br />

acquire wealth and see good days. 10. Have ye seen the<br />

righteous how their end falls out ? for no manner <strong>of</strong> violence<br />

Children <strong>of</strong> earth. Wanting in G. 4. Ye that die. So<br />
