in xvi. 1 and xxii. 3 the readings adopted but agrees with the<br />

<strong>Ethiopic</strong> text in ix. 3, 10.<br />

X. 1-3. <strong>The</strong>se verses belong to an<br />

Apocalypse <strong>of</strong> Noah. 1. <strong>The</strong><br />

Most High ; see xcix. 3 (note). <strong>The</strong><br />

Great and Holy: see i. 3 (note).<br />

Arsjaiaijttr. For this the Syn.<br />

Gk. has simply Uriel, and the Giz.<br />

Gk. has Istrael. <strong>The</strong> name in the<br />

text is probably a corruption. Son<br />

<strong>of</strong> Lamech, i. e. Noah. If x. 1-3<br />

belonged originally to this section,<br />

the writer must have followed the<br />

Samaritan reckoning. Hide thyself;<br />

i. e. in order to receive further dis-<br />

closures <strong>from</strong> the angel: cf. xii. I.
