<strong>iCys</strong> Safety Requirements<br />

<strong>iCys</strong> has been designed for safe and reliable use for laser cytometry of microplates,<br />

slides, and other carriers. The i<strong>iCys</strong> Research Imaging Cytometer’s optics/electronics<br />

unit contains up to three Class 3b lasers inside and is itself a Class 3R laser product.<br />

Laser Safety Labels<br />

Warning: If the <strong>iCys</strong> system is used in a manner not specified by CompuCyte<br />

Corporation, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired.<br />

All lasers are intense sources of coherent light and may cause injury if used<br />

improperly. In addition, high voltages are present inside the <strong>iCys</strong> Research Imaging<br />

Cytometer. Neither are accessible to the operator, unless the door and/or covers are<br />

opened and the lasers are energized. Be aware of these potential dangers and take the<br />

proper precautions.<br />

Note: All service functions must be performed by a trained authorized service<br />

person.<br />

The <strong>iCys</strong> system comes equipped with the following safety labels:<br />

❑ Classification label<br />

❑ Access Panel labels<br />
