Laser Safety<br />

The following safety recommendations apply:<br />

❑ Do not attempt to service the laser system.<br />

❑ For all service functions call a trained CompuCyte authorized service person.<br />

❑ Do not remove the internal safety shields<br />

Warning: Viewing the laser output with certain optical instruments (for example,<br />

eye loupes, magnifiers, and microscopes) within a distance of 100 mm<br />

may pose an eye hazard.<br />

Laser Aperture at Objective Lens<br />

Laser light is emitted from the objective lens that is currently selected for use by<br />

rotating the objective lens turret.<br />

Warning: Do not remove objective lenses or objective lens port caps.<br />

Electrical Safety<br />

The following safety recommendations apply:<br />

❑ Keep all panels and covers in place when operating the system to prevent the<br />

chance of electrical shock.<br />

❑ Refer all servicing of high voltage or line voltage to an authorized CompuCyte<br />

service representative.<br />

❑ The CompuCyte <strong>iCys</strong> Research Imaging Cytometer requires surge protected<br />

mains or other external surge protection to meet the surge requirements of<br />

EN61326. Surge protection capable of eliminating surges up to 2kV line to<br />

ground, and 1kV line to line is required.<br />
