If you want to lay out scan areas in a precise pattern, Grid displays<br />

a grid over the scannable area, as shown:<br />

Note that when the carrier window is reduced in size the menu bar<br />

adjusts to accommodate the change.<br />

Moves the stage to center the objective on the position of<br />

subsequent mouse click.<br />

Select Carrier Type Allows you to specify the carrier type for the scan.<br />

Status Bar MP—This field displays the X and Y mouse position relative to the<br />

top right corner of the carrier. Moving the mouse cursor will<br />

change the display.<br />

SP—This field displays the X and Y stage position relative to the<br />

top right corner of the carrier (black square).<br />

%—Displays the carrier display magnification<br />

Right Click on Carrier Window<br />

Fit, Zoom (25% to 400%), Grid and Label can be selected by right-clicking on the<br />

Carrier window. Label generates and displays a label for each scan area.<br />

Defining the Scan Area for Freeform Carriers<br />

Grid Scale<br />

Fine 1mm<br />

Coarse 5mm<br />

When defining the scan area for freeform carriers, keep in mind the following:<br />

❍ Scan areas can be selected individually by clicking on them with the mouse.<br />

❍ When changing to a different specimen carrier all currently defined scan areas<br />

are deleted. To save these scan areas, save your Workspace before switching<br />

carrier types.<br />
