Menu Bar Overview<br />

This section describes the menu options available from the <strong>iCys</strong> menu bar.<br />

File Menu<br />

❑ File Menu, page 3-3<br />

The options in the File menu allow you to open, close, save, and print files and<br />

Workspaces.<br />

When you select any option from this menu that opens a Workspace, the Save<br />

Workspace, or Save Workspace As window displays, allowing you to save the<br />

previous Workspace, as discussed in “Saving Workspaces” on page 3-87.<br />

For more information about Workspaces, see “Workspaces and Workspace Files” on<br />

page 3-86.<br />

The File menu options are as follows:<br />

❑ New Run—Allows you to set up a new Run. You can specify a workspace to use.<br />

For more information on Run files, see page 3-10. The New Run command is also<br />

available from the Setup section of the task bar.<br />

❑ Open Run—Opens a Run and its Workspace. If a previous Run is open, that Run<br />

and its associated Workspace are closed. Additional information on <strong>iCys</strong> file types<br />

can be found in “Data Structure” on page 3-86.<br />

Depending on certain file parameters and other information, you can use the Run<br />

file to either:<br />

❍ Reanalyze raw data or<br />

❍ Analyze event data.<br />

The Open Run command is also available from the Setup section of the task bar,<br />

(see page 3-15.)<br />

❑ Close—Closes the currently open Run file.<br />

When you close a Run, the Workspace is also closed. You will be prompted to<br />

save any changes you have made to the Workspace. For additional information<br />

about Run files, see “Data Structure” on page 3-86.<br />

❑ Open Workspace—Opens an existing Workspace, closing the current<br />

Workspace. You are prompted to save changes to the current Workspace.<br />

❑ Save Workspace—Saves the current Workspace in the WorkFiles folder. You<br />

cannot overwrite the template workspaces provided with <strong>iCys</strong> or a workspace<br />
