Charge Pump Disassembly (Cont’d)<br />

Remove the gerotor assembly from the gerotor cover [A].<br />

Check all charge pump components for wear or damage.<br />

Replace parts as necessary.<br />

Disassembly<br />

When making repairs on hydrostatic and<br />

hydraulic systems, clean the work area before<br />

disassembly and keep all parts clean. Always<br />

use caps and plugs on hoses, tubelines and<br />

ports to keep dirt out. Dirt can quickly damage<br />

the system.<br />

Use the following procedure to disassemble both front<br />

and rear hydrostatic pumps. Procedures to be performed<br />

on the front or rear pump only are marked.<br />

NOTE: Keep front and rear pump parts separate<br />

during disassembly and assembly.<br />

Remove the plug, shims (if equipped), spring and high<br />

pressure relief valve cartridge from each si<strong>de</strong> of the pump<br />

[B].<br />

♦ Remove the plug, shims (if equipped), spring and<br />

charge pressure relief valve [C].<br />

◊ Remove the by–pass valve [D].<br />

◊ Front Pump<br />

♦ Rear Pump<br />
