HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE (Cont’d) Lift Spool and Detent (Cont’d) Put grease on all the detent component surfaces before assembly [A]. Install the detent balls and spring into the detent adapter. Hold the detent balls in position with the tool (MEL1278) and install the detent adapter into the end cap [B]. Install the new spool seal (Item 1) [C] and backup washer (Item 2) [C]. Install the centering spring, end cap/detent adapter on the valve spool. Tighten the detent adapter to 90–100 in.–lbs.
