Lift Spool and Detent
The tool listed will be needed to do the following
procedure:
MEL1278 – Detent Tool
Remove the cap from the detent end cap [A].
Use a screwdriver to remove the snap ring (Item 1) [B].
Remove the washer (Item 2) [B].
Remove the screws (Item 1) [C] from the detent sleeve.
Remove the detent sleeve (Item 2) [C].
The detent assembly has small springs and
balls. Do not lose these parts during
disassembly and assembly.

Wrap a rag around the detent assembly [D].
