Hydrostatic Pump Neutral Adjustment (Cont’d)<br />

3. Clamp the control lever to the neutral adjustment<br />

bracket with a small locking pliers [A].<br />

4. Start the engine. With the engine running at full<br />

RPM, move the control lever forward until the<br />

wheels just begin to move. Mark the position on the<br />

bracket (felt tip pen) [B].<br />

5. Move the control lever in reverse until the wheels<br />

just begin to move. Mark this position.<br />

6. Stop the engine.<br />

7. Position the neutral adjustment bracket between<br />

the two marks and tighten the holddown bolt [C].<br />

Remove the locking pliers. Start the engine and<br />

check in both directions to be sure the pump will<br />

return to neutral.<br />

8. Remove the socket from blocking the neutral spring<br />

bracket [D].<br />

9. Adjust the steering neutral setting. (See Page<br />

3–12.)<br />
