Removal and Installation (Cont’d)<br />

Installation: Use two pieces of shim stock (light<br />

cardboard), install the rod end of the tilt cylin<strong>de</strong>r into the<br />

Bob–Tach [A].<br />

Be careful not to damage the seals during installation.<br />

NOTE: Removal procedure is shown for the right<br />

si<strong>de</strong>. Left si<strong>de</strong> procedure is the same.<br />

Remove the grease fitting (Item 1) [B] from the Bob–Tach<br />

frame for the pivot pin (both si<strong>de</strong>s) [C].<br />

NOTE: The grease fitting must be removed to<br />

prevent the pivot pin from being hydraulic<br />

locked in the Bob–Tach frame.<br />

Loosen the bolt (Item 2) [B] at the Bob–Tach pivot pin.<br />

Installation: Tighten the bolt to 250–260 ft.–lbs.<br />

(339–353 Nm) torque.<br />

Strike the head of the bolt (Item 2) [B] to push the pivot<br />

pin into the Bob–Tach frame.<br />

Remove the bolt (Item 2) [B].<br />

Use a punch to push the pivot pin all the way into the<br />

Bob–Tach frame.<br />

Installation: A longer bolt is necessary to install through<br />

lift arms into the pivot pin, to pull the pivot pin into the lift<br />

arms.<br />

NOTE: Use tapered reamer MEL1233 to clean the<br />

tapered hole in the lift arms. The tapered hole<br />

must be clean and free of <strong>de</strong>bris to provi<strong>de</strong> a<br />

good contact surface for the pivot pin.<br />

Remove the Bob–Tach frame from the lift arms [C].<br />

Remove the seal dust cup (Item 1) [C].<br />

Remove the rubber seal [D].<br />
