Hydrostatic Pump Neutral Adjustment<br />

When working on the left si<strong>de</strong> of the hydrostatic<br />

pump, Be Careful to keep your fingers and tools<br />

clear of the cooling fan belt.<br />

After the hydrostatic pump has been rebuilt, the neutral<br />

for the servo valve spool will have to be adjusted. Use the<br />

following procedure:<br />

NOTE: The hydrostatic pump must be installed in<br />

the loa<strong>de</strong>r for this procedure.<br />

The following tool will be nee<strong>de</strong>d to do the following<br />

procedure:<br />

MEL1429A – Remote Start Switch<br />

Lift and block the loa<strong>de</strong>r. (See Page 1–1.)<br />

Raise the lift arms and install an approved lift arm support<br />

<strong>de</strong>vise. (See Page 1–1.)<br />

Raise the operator cab. (See Page 1–1.)<br />

Connect the remote start switch. (See Page 1–1.)<br />

1. Block the neutral spring bracket out with a large<br />

socket (1–1/8 inch) so you can feel and see the<br />

linkage neutral setting [A] & [B].<br />

The pump neutral adjustment bracket (Item 1) [C]<br />

controls the position of the spool lever arm (Item 2) [C]<br />

with a centering spring (Item 1) [D].<br />

Inspect centering spring ends for damage or wear.<br />

Replace the spring if there is excessive freeplay between<br />

spool lever arm (Item 2) [C] and spring ends (Item 1) [D].<br />

2. Loosen the bolt (Item 2) [D] for the neutral<br />

adjustment bracket.<br />
