AXLE SEAL<br />

Removal and Installation<br />

Lift and block the loa<strong>de</strong>r. (See Page 1–1.)<br />

Remove the tire/wheel assembly.<br />

Installation: Tighten the wheel nuts to 105–115 ft.–lbs.<br />

(142–155 Nm) torque.<br />

Remove the bolts (Item 1) [A] and plate.<br />

Installation: Tighten the bolts to 175–190 ft.–lbs.<br />

(240–260 Nm) torque.<br />

Remove the two wheel studs (Item 2) [A] across from<br />

each other.<br />

Install puller (Item 1) [B] on the wheel hub.<br />

NEVER STAND IN–LINE OF THE HUB WHEN<br />

REMOVING A HUB FROM AN AXLE. The hub<br />

has a tapered fit on the axle end and can come<br />

off the axle with great force and cause serious<br />

injury.<br />

Remove the hub from the axle.<br />

Remove the key (Item 1) [C] from the axle.<br />

Drill a hole into the axle seal [D].<br />
