A staff member will be reassigned to the Office of<br />
Research and <strong>Plan</strong>ning in the fall to do grants officer<br />
work.<br />
3. Convene regular meetings of <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong><br />
<strong>BOCES</strong> administrators of specially funded programs<br />
4. Information sharing about current grant funded<br />
programs through expansion various methods<br />
5. Needs assessment: identify knowledge/skill gaps<br />
and interests for future agendas (i.e., informal needs<br />
assessments; researching sources of funding; grant<br />
development skills; legal/accounting issues in grants<br />
management)<br />
6. Identify operational problem areas within the<br />
agency for grant funded programs (i.e., inefficiencies in<br />
business procedures, hiring procedures) for future<br />
agendas<br />
7. Identify and develop "boilerplate" descriptions, "fact<br />
sheets," data bases, etc. that can be shared between<br />
grant programs to ease grant writing efforts<br />
8. Host special programs (staff development for<br />
grants administrators) and quality improvement<br />
sessions (with other departments) following agenda<br />
identified via needs assessments<br />
9. Use new technology tools (email; listserv; website;<br />
etc.) to promote communication among the group<br />
10. Investigate new cross-grant program initiatives<br />
and form ad hoc subcommittees as appropriate to<br />
facilitate new grant writing initiatives; research<br />
statistical data needed to develop grant proposals<br />
including budget development<br />
