<strong>BOCES</strong> General funding; Federal, State and Local Grants; Teacher Centers, Program Charges.<br />

IMPLEMENTATION MEASURES:<br />

Standardizing the tracking of staff development participation through the <strong>BOCES</strong> management information system; standardized<br />

evaluation forms for training should be utilized, summarized, centrally reported and maintained; alternative strategies for follow-up<br />

documentation of impact on job performance and student outcomes need to be located or developed, implemented and documented;<br />

a system needs to be implemented within our current management information system that will track the development of a more<br />

diverse workforce.<br />

BASELINE DATA AND RESULTS:<br />

Tracking Teacher Professional Development<br />

A paper tracking system was set in place in the 2003/04 year to determine the number of teachers enhancing their skills by taking<br />

additional coursework as per contract.<br />

• An average of 109 teachers received an increment on September 1, 2003. Another 48 increments were granted<br />

February 1, 2004. These 157 increments represent 21.19% of the bargaining unit.<br />

• In 2005-06, 144 teachers acquired their professional development hours by taking additional coursework. Salary<br />

increments were provided for those teachers fulfilling the requirement.<br />

• In 2006-07, 133 teachers acquired their professional development hours by taking additional coursework. Salary<br />

increments were provided for those teachers fulfilling the requirement.<br />

• In 2007-08, 118 teachers acquired their professional development hours by taking additional coursework. Salary<br />

increments were provided for those teachers fulfilling the requirement.<br />
