STRATEGIC PLANNING STRATEGY: By the year <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> will offer new and enhanced technologies to<br />
improve the efficiency and strengthen the quality of the programs and services offered to all members of our educational community.<br />
DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE: To strengthen the quality of services, the Regional Information Center (RIC) will offer new and<br />
enhanced technologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and services that provide significant educational<br />
opportunities for various stakeholders in the <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> community.<br />
ACTIVITIES<br />
1. Provide leadership and support for users of<br />
instructional and administrative technology including<br />
the utilization of Internet for access to programs.<br />
a. A handbook of RIC processes and procedures will<br />
be developed for use by districts, vendors, and<br />
internal staff members when requesting services.<br />
b. Blackboard technology will be introduced to<br />
facilitate remote learning instruction for in-service<br />
course offerings.<br />
c. A website will be developed and expanded upon<br />
as information is coordinated for posting.<br />
d. Sharepoint sites for internal and external users will<br />
be developed, in addition to the website<br />
referenced above in 1.c., to provide a more<br />
comprehensive communications vehicle for<br />
information sharing.<br />
e. Hosting of Sharepoint sites for external users,<br />
