RELATED OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVE: By June <strong>2009</strong>, the implementation of two new high school level math courses and the<br />
corresponding Regents exams will be completed. This implementation will include the realignment of the curriculum, purchase of<br />
instructional materials, and professional development for instructional staff.<br />
DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE: Based on the Board of Regents approval of new math standards for high school that provide for new<br />
high school math courses and corresponding Regents exams, ESS, in collaboration with the Math Curriculum Committee will realign<br />
the math curriculum, purchase instructional materials for <strong>BOCES</strong> high school programs, and provide professional development for<br />
instructional staff relative to the new curriculum and exams.<br />
ACTIVITIES<br />
1. Provide training to Math Curriculum<br />
Committee members and Curriculum Teachers on<br />
changes to the math standards<br />
2. Establish a plan for phase-in of Algebra<br />
courses<br />
3. Research textbooks for pre-Algebra course to<br />
be implemented during the 06-07 school year<br />

recommendations and purchase requisitions for<br />
pre-Algebra instructional materials order<br />
