STRATEGIC PLANNING STRATEGY: By the year <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> Department of Human Resources will: 1) develop<br />
initiatives to recruit, hire and track a culturally and racially diverse workforce; 2) assure that all <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> employees<br />
participate in professional development so that they meet annual certification standards and have the opportunity for career<br />
advancement; 3) develop and implement systems for evaluating staff; and 4) develop and implement systems for tracking staff.<br />
DESCRIPTIVE NARATIVE: Over the next three years, the staff at <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>BOCES</strong> will become more diverse in its racial and<br />
ethnic makeup as a result of the activities created within this plan. There will be a need to offer a comprehensive staff development<br />
plan that will demonstrate increased individual and professional growth, an improvement in student outcomes, and the ability to track<br />
the training needs and accomplishments of our diverse staff.<br />
ACTIVITIES<br />
1. Human Resources will coordinate a broad based<br />
agency-wide system of staff development for all<br />
employees.<br />
2. Human Resources will develop a mentoring plan<br />
that provides opportunities for agency employees to<br />
advance professionally.<br />
3. Human Resources will utilize the agency’s<br />
management information system to track professional<br />
advancement activities.<br />
4. Human Resources will coordinate the input of data<br />
for tracking purposes.<br />
