STRATEGIC PLANNING STRATEGY: By July <strong>2009</strong>, the Management Services Division will increase its capacity to achieve, and<br />
the achievement of, its mission by: providing effective needs-based staff development to divisional and agency staff; continuing to<br />
improve internal controls agency-wide; continuing to improve internal divisional systems and processes; continuing to improve<br />
existing and/or creating new services to both external and internal customers; and increasing the internal and external leadership /<br />
resource / support role of all administrators and other appropriate staff within the division.<br />
DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE: By July <strong>2009</strong>, the Management Services Division will increase its capacity to achieve, and the<br />
achievement of, its mission by:<br />
• Providing effective needs-based professional development to divisional and agency staff. This professional development will be<br />
in the areas of supervisory skills, leadership skills, management skills, administrative technology, data collection and analysis,<br />
risk assessment, development and implementation of cost effective internal controls, etc. as may be necessary.<br />
• Continuing to improve internal controls agency-wide through the use of risk assessment, documentation, communication, and<br />
professional development.<br />
• Continuing to improve internal divisional systems and processes through a collaborative process that engages system users and<br />
system operators.<br />
• Continuing to improve existing and/or creating new services to both external and internal customers through research and<br />
engagement with both internal and external customers.<br />
• Increasing the internal and external leadership / resource / support role of all administrators and other appropriate staff within the<br />
division through enhancement of research skills, development of professional development opportunities, and increased and<br />
improved documentation and communication.<br />
