RADOVAN BRENKUS<br />
Radovan Brenkus is a Slovak <strong>poet</strong> <strong>and</strong> writer. He was born on the 30th<br />
of January 1974 in Bardejov. He graduated from the Science faculty at P.<br />
J. Šafárik University. He worked as a teacher in Košice, later as a specialist<br />
worker at the Institute of Experimental Physics of Slovak Academy of<br />
Sciences. He founded the Pectus Publishing House <strong>and</strong> nowadays he<br />
is involved in publishing of original <strong>and</strong> translation literature. Brenkus<br />
is also the editor for the Slovak literary journal „Dotyky“. Some of his<br />
works have been translated into English, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian <strong>and</strong><br />
Bulgarian. In 1997 Radovan Brenkus debuted by book of <strong>poet</strong>ry March of<br />
the Dead, then offered to readers <strong>poet</strong>ic collections such as Requiem in<br />
the Dust (2002), Romance with a will-o’-the-wisp (2005) <strong>and</strong> Smoke from<br />
the Realm of Shadows (2009).<br />
Casting down the nests<br />

below the crosses all turned back-to-front.<br />
Birds sprinkle themselves with seed.<br />
