3005. FARM BUSINESS RECORDS. 3 cr. Fundamental principles<br />
for assimil<strong>at</strong>ion, organiz<strong>at</strong>ion, and analyses <strong>of</strong> farm records as<br />
applied to decision-making processes. Utiliz<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> computers<br />
in farm records and accounting will be stressed. (Formerly AGEC<br />
305) Prerequisite: Minimum grade <strong>of</strong> “C” in AGRB 1001, 2001,<br />

3007. ADVANCED AGRICULTURAL MARKETING. 3 cr. Fundamental<br />
concepts <strong>of</strong> forward pricing. Introduction to forward contracting,<br />
the futures market, and options on agricultural futures. Emphasis<br />
is placed on forward pricing as a tool to reduce price risk.<br />
Prerequisite: Minimum grade <strong>of</strong> “C” in AGRB 1001, 2001, and<br />
2003.<br />
3010. AGRICULTURAL FINANCE. 3 cr. Principles <strong>of</strong> agricultural<br />
finance emphasizing costs and returns from capital and credit,<br />
various types and sources <strong>of</strong> credit, development, characteristics<br />
and role <strong>of</strong> agricultural lending institutions. (Formerly AGEC 310)<br />
Prerequisite: Minimum grade <strong>of</strong> “C” in AGRB 3005.<br />
3011. AGRICULTURAL PRICE ANALYSIS AND FORECASTING. 3<br />
cr. Basic tre<strong>at</strong>ment <strong>of</strong> agricultural price analysis tools. Emphasis<br />
is placed on computer s<strong>of</strong>tware and problem recognition. Course<br />
lectures concentr<strong>at</strong>e on local commodities. (Formerly AGEC 311)<br />
3012. RURAL REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL. 3 cr. This course<br />
covers the basic techniques and principles <strong>of</strong> estim<strong>at</strong>ing fair<br />
market value and production value <strong>of</strong> rural est<strong>at</strong>e committed<br />
to agricultural production. D<strong>at</strong>a needs, methodologies, report<br />
writing, and appraisal ethics are covered in detail and rel<strong>at</strong>ed to<br />
rural land. Prerequisite: AGRB 3005 & 3010.<br />
3044. AGRIBUSINESS PRACTICUM. 3 cr. Design, plan, and execute<br />
an approved agribusiness enterprise. May be used for elective<br />
credit only. May be repe<strong>at</strong>ed. (Formerly AGRI 344) Prerequisites:<br />
Junior standing.<br />
4021. ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMICS. 3 cr. Principles and methods<br />
for critically analyzing environmental issues from an economic<br />
and policy perspective. Review <strong>of</strong> current environmental issues<br />
with emphasis on agriculture rel<strong>at</strong>ed topics. (Formerly AGEC 421)<br />
Prerequisite: Minimum grade <strong>of</strong> “C” in AGRB 3010.<br />
4023. FARM AND AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT. 3 cr. Managerial<br />
techniques applied to farm and agribusiness organiz<strong>at</strong>ions,<br />
which include input-output rel<strong>at</strong>ionships, enterprise combin<strong>at</strong>ions,<br />
and budget analysis. Emphasis will be placed upon typical<br />
decision-making problems encountered by farm and agribusiness<br />
managers. (Formerly AGEC 423) Prerequisite: Minimum grade <strong>of</strong><br />
“C” in AGRB 3010.<br />
4061. AGRICULTURAL POLICY AND TRADE. 3 cr. Effects <strong>of</strong> public<br />
policies on the food and agriculture sector, policy form<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
process, various domestic farm programs, and discussion on new<br />
farm bill. U.S. trade policies and factors affecting trade in farm<br />
products will be discussed. (Formerly AGEC 4061) Prerequisite:<br />
Minimum grade <strong>of</strong> “C” in AGRB 3007 and 3010.<br />

3001. RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT. 4 cr.<br />
Designing and laying out conserv<strong>at</strong>ion practices necessary<br />
to reduce erosion. Emphasis will be placed upon surveying,<br />
mapping, drainage, terracing, w<strong>at</strong>er impoundment and safe<br />
w<strong>at</strong>er movement. Three hours lecture and two hours labor<strong>at</strong>ory.<br />
Prerequisite: MATH 1011.<br />
3008. ADVANCE FARM CROPS. 4 cr. Varieties, species, genetics, breeding,<br />
cultural practices and uses <strong>of</strong> fiber and grain crops. Three hours lecture<br />

pollution and its control.<br />

chemical and mineralogical properties <strong>of</strong> soils from the theoretical<br />

1001. THE AIR FORCE TODAY I. 1 cr. This course focuses on the<br />
basic characteristics <strong>of</strong> the air doctrine; U.S. Air Force mission<br />
and organiz<strong>at</strong>ion; functions <strong>of</strong> the U.S. str<strong>at</strong>egic <strong>of</strong>fensive and<br />
defensive, general purpose and support forces; <strong>of</strong>ficership;<br />
followership, military customs and courtesies, and an assessment<br />
<strong>of</strong> communic<strong>at</strong>ive skills.<br />
1002. THE AIR FORCE TODAY II. 1 cr. A focus on U.S. Air Force<br />
install<strong>at</strong>ions and pr<strong>of</strong>essions; introduction to flight; geographical<br />
awareness; U. S. defense policy; military balance; terrorism; and<br />
a study <strong>of</strong> the other branches <strong>of</strong> the Armed Services.<br />
1011. AFROTC LEADERSHIP LAB. 0 cr. Study and practice <strong>of</strong> Air<br />
Force customs and courtesies, drill and ceremonies, and military<br />
commands. Grades <strong>of</strong> CR (credit) or NC (no credit) will be<br />
awarded. Must be taken in conjunction with AFAS 1001.<br />

1002. ORIENTATION TO ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS. 3 cr. An<br />
on-line introduction to allied health and rehabilit<strong>at</strong>ion pr<strong>of</strong>essions<br />
focusing upon roles, career p<strong>at</strong>hs, and collabor<strong>at</strong>ive training.<br />
2000. MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY. 2-3 cr. Origin <strong>of</strong> words and principles<br />
<strong>of</strong> their construction. Definitions <strong>of</strong> medical terms, diseases,<br />
syndromes and applic<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> terms in clinical practice are<br />
stressed. Overview <strong>of</strong> an<strong>at</strong>omy and physiology and applic<strong>at</strong>ion to<br />

origin <strong>of</strong> and biogenetic heritage <strong>of</strong> humans; a survey <strong>of</strong> modern<br />
human racia vari<strong>at</strong>ion; an introduction to archeological and<br />
prehistoric techniques <strong>of</strong> investig<strong>at</strong>ion regarding the changing<br />
physical form <strong>of</strong> humans. (Same as GEOG 1011.)<br />
1020. PREHISTORIC ARCHEOLOGY OF THE BIBLE. 3 cr. An<br />
introduction to prehistoric archeology <strong>of</strong> the Middle East and<br />
nearby areas th<strong>at</strong> figure prominently in the Judeo-Christian Old<br />
Testament. Temporal scope includes the Paleolithic, Mesolithic,<br />
Neolithic, and the Chalcolithic Periods.
