hygiene topics relevant to evidence-based practice <strong>of</strong> dental<br />

4031. ADVANCED PERIODONTOLOGY. 2 cr. A course emphasizing<br />

the role <strong>of</strong> the dental hygienist in total management <strong>of</strong> the<br />

periodontal p<strong>at</strong>ient, utilizing advanced concepts in tre<strong>at</strong>ment<br />

modalities and supportive maintenance care. Prerequisites: 4014,<br />

4033. LOCAL ANESTHESIA & PAIN CONTROL. 2 cr. This course<br />

is designed to instruct students in the art and science <strong>of</strong> local<br />

anesthesia. The course encompasses pre-anesthetic evalu<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

<strong>of</strong> the p<strong>at</strong>ient, management <strong>of</strong> the medically compromised<br />

p<strong>at</strong>ient, physiology and pharmacology <strong>of</strong> local anesthetics and<br />

Competing macroeconomic models are analyzed along with the<br />

trade from Mercantilism and the Classical world to modern<br />

exhaustible resources, renewable resources, and environmental<br />

services. Pollution, resource depletion, and the role <strong>of</strong><br />

government in the market are discussed. Effects <strong>of</strong> policy tools<br />

such as tax<strong>at</strong>ion, ceiling prices, and emission standards are<br />

and possible solutions; analysis <strong>of</strong> present policies <strong>of</strong> government<br />

and industry as such policies are influenced by foreign economic<br />

4003. PUBLIC SECTOR ECONOMICS. 3 cr. Theory and practice<br />

<strong>of</strong> local, st<strong>at</strong>e, and federal government expenditures and<br />

revenues; shifting and incidence <strong>of</strong> the various forms <strong>of</strong> tax<strong>at</strong>ion;<br />

consider<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> the integr<strong>at</strong>ing <strong>of</strong> revenues and expenditures into<br />
