This course introduces students to the music and movement<br />

component <strong>of</strong> an integr<strong>at</strong>ed curriculum. It <strong>of</strong>fers a variety <strong>of</strong><br />

music and appropri<strong>at</strong>e movements and rhythms to teach children.<br />

2006. RESIDENTIAL DESIGN. 3 cr. Selection and arrangement <strong>of</strong><br />

furnishings with emphasis on planning costs and budgets for<br />

different income levels. Planning <strong>of</strong> individual rooms including the<br />

2026. CHILD CARE ADMINISTRATION. 2 cr. Principles <strong>of</strong> developing<br />

and administering a child care center emphasizing the<br />

responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the owner/director. Types <strong>of</strong> early childhood<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ion centers and needs.<br />

3001. LITERACY AND LANGUAGE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD. 3<br />

cr. This course introduces theory, research and techniques in<br />

Language and Literacy; and teaches students how to apply them<br />

in early childhood classrooms. Prerequisites: FCSC 2015, 2020.<br />

3005. CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. 3<br />

cr. This course is designed to present students with concepts,<br />

methods, and experiences used in cre<strong>at</strong>ing art experiences<br />

for infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children.<br />

child from ages three to six with emphasis on planning preschool<br />

3016. HOUSING. 3 cr. Interdisciplinary approach to meeting housing<br />

needs <strong>of</strong> families. Architectural styling and consumer planning to<br />

4030. CURRENT TRENDS IN INDUSTRY. 3 cr. Study <strong>of</strong> current trends<br />

4031. PARENTING: FATHERS, MOTHERS, AND CHILDREN. 3 cr.<br />

Practical knowledge <strong>of</strong> parenting roles. Interrel<strong>at</strong>ionships <strong>of</strong><br />

f<strong>at</strong>hers, mothers, and children. Current issues in parenting,<br />

including bonding, discipline, child care, family crises, support<br />

systems and non- traditional parent situ<strong>at</strong>ions. Parents and<br />

children in historical and contemporary perspectives.<br />

4037. INTERMEDIATE STUDIO. 3 cr. Individual design projects in a<br />

4039. MENTORING CHILDREN. 3-6 cr. Hands-on experience in<br />

working with children and families, research, intervention<br />
