Design problems to develop pr<strong>of</strong>essional studio skills and practices<br />

in graphic design. Develop methods <strong>of</strong> problem solving with specific<br />

production limit<strong>at</strong>ions. Methods <strong>of</strong> present<strong>at</strong>ion. One hour lecture<br />

and five hours studio. Prerequisite: 2006. (Formerly 305; Advanced<br />

4006. COMPUTER ART. 3 cr. Decision making with the graphic<br />

computer, cre<strong>at</strong>ion to production. Computer-aided visual design<br />

including image origin<strong>at</strong>ion as well as input, output, selection,<br />

editing, alter<strong>at</strong>ion, and manipul<strong>at</strong>ion. Prerequisites: Art 1001,<br />

1003; Computer Science 1070, or approval <strong>of</strong> department head.<br />

4007. RAKU CERAMICS. 3 cr. Lecture and demonstr<strong>at</strong>ions on use <strong>of</strong><br />

Raku ceramics, including kiln construction and firing. One hour<br />

4008. ART APPLICATIONS IN TEACHING. 3 cr. Mixed media; drawing<br />

multi-image processes, enlargement techniques, and three<br />

4009. TECHNIQUES IN THE FINE ARTS. 3 cr. A study, analysis, and<br />

particip<strong>at</strong>ion in the productions <strong>of</strong> various media in the fine arts<br />

4025. RENAISSANCE. 3 cr. The visual arts in Italy from the early<br />

Renaissance through Mannerism. Prerequisite: 2001, 2002.<br />

4026. NINETEENTH CENTURY. 3 cr. Nineteenth Century European<br />

and American Rococo through Post-Impressionism periods.<br />

Individual instruction in planning and executing a personal<br />

4073. WATERMEDIA. 3 cr. Maximum 6 hrs. A contemporary bridge<br />

between painting and drawing. Painting with mixed media; including<br />

studio. Prerequisites: 2073, or approval <strong>of</strong> department head.<br />

4081. ADVANCED SCULPTURE. 3 cr. Maximum, 12 cr. Advanced<br />

problems in sculptural processes and techniques. Emphasis upon<br />

children <strong>at</strong> the elementary level. For second semester sophomores,<br />

juniors, seniors and gradu<strong>at</strong>e students only Prerequisites: students<br />

must be educ<strong>at</strong>ion majors, educ<strong>at</strong>ion rel<strong>at</strong>ed-field majors, art<br />

students with 18 credit hours in art, or receive approval from the Art<br />
