INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS<br />
The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Louisiana</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Monroe</strong> sponsors<br />
intercollegi<strong>at</strong>e programs for both men and women.<br />
The men’s program sponsors seven sports: baseball,<br />
basketball, cross country, football, golf, indoor and outdoor<br />
track and field. The women’s program sponsors nine<br />
sports: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, s<strong>of</strong>tball,<br />
tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and volleyball.<br />
These sports are conducted in the N<strong>at</strong>ional Collegi<strong>at</strong>e<br />
Athletic Associ<strong>at</strong>ion’s highest classific<strong>at</strong>ion—Division<br />
I. The <strong>University</strong> is a member in good standing <strong>of</strong> the<br />
NCAA, the major governing body <strong>of</strong> intercollegi<strong>at</strong>e<br />
<strong>at</strong>hletics. All sports programs <strong>at</strong> ULM are conducted<br />
within the framework <strong>of</strong> NCAA and Sun Belt Conference<br />
regul<strong>at</strong>ions concerning student eligibility and other facets<br />
<strong>of</strong> the program.<br />
Athletic scholarships are provided to outstanding men<br />
and women <strong>at</strong>hletes in each sport.<br />

TeSTING CENTER<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> the Testing Center is to provide<br />
students with inform<strong>at</strong>ion regarding tests for admission,<br />
certific<strong>at</strong>ion, correspondence/independent study, course<br />
placement, and credit by examin<strong>at</strong>ion. The Testing Center<br />
<strong>of</strong>fers CLEP, DSST, GRE, HOBET, MCAT, PRAXIS,<br />
TOEFL, correspondence/independent study, and<br />
placement exams on scheduled test days. The Testing<br />
Center is the only authorized test administr<strong>at</strong>or <strong>at</strong> ULM<br />
for correspondence, independent study, or any course<br />
exam administered <strong>at</strong> ULM on behalf <strong>of</strong> other institutions,<br />
regardless <strong>of</strong> the student's enrollment st<strong>at</strong>us <strong>at</strong> ULM. It<br />
is recommended th<strong>at</strong> students schedule their exams a<br />
minimum <strong>of</strong> 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure receipt <strong>of</strong><br />
scores before individual program deadlines.<br />

Vehicle Registr<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
All students, faculty, staff, and other employees <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>University</strong> must register any motorized vehicle which<br />
is to be used on the campus. This registr<strong>at</strong>ion must be<br />
completed immedi<strong>at</strong>ely after bringing the vehicle on<br />
campus. Prior to registr<strong>at</strong>ion, a vehicle use fee must be<br />
paid by each student using a vehicle.<br />
Students, faculty, and staff must register their vehicle,<br />
and pay all fines for traffic cit<strong>at</strong>ion, together with any<br />
administr<strong>at</strong>ive fee which may be assessed.<br />
VETERANS AFFAIRS<br />
UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS 81<br />
Loc<strong>at</strong>ed in Administr<strong>at</strong>ion 1-109, the ULM’s Office<br />
<strong>of</strong> Veterans Affairs assists all veterans and dependents<br />
in establishing eligibility to receive veterans’ educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
benefits <strong>at</strong> ULM.<br />
First-time applicants must submit an applic<strong>at</strong>ion for<br />
benefits to the Regional Processing Office (RPO), which<br />
is loc<strong>at</strong>ed in Muskogee, OK. A veteran can apply online<br />
for benefits <strong>at</strong> the GI Bill website or via a paper applic<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
th<strong>at</strong> is available in the ULM Veterans Affairs <strong>of</strong>fice. After a<br />
processing time <strong>of</strong> approxim<strong>at</strong>ely 8-12 weeks, the veteran<br />
will receive a letter st<strong>at</strong>ing his/her eligibility st<strong>at</strong>us. The<br />
letter must be submitted to the ULM Veterans Affairs <strong>of</strong>fice<br />
in order th<strong>at</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fice may retain a copy. Additionally,<br />
there are other required forms to be completed in the VA<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice.<br />
Transfer students who have used their benefits <strong>at</strong><br />
another institution must complete transfer forms 22-1995<br />
(Request for Change <strong>of</strong> Program or Place <strong>of</strong> Training) or<br />
22-5495 (Dependents’ Request for Change <strong>of</strong> Program or<br />
Place <strong>of</strong> Training). Both forms can be obtained in the VA<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice on campus.<br />
All students are required to complete pre-enrollment<br />
certific<strong>at</strong>ion sheets for each semester/term for which they<br />
are requesting payment.<br />
It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the student to inform the<br />
ULM VA Office if any <strong>of</strong> the following occurs: 1) curriculum<br />
change which may affect eligibility <strong>of</strong> current courses’<br />
applicability to the new degree program; 2) any change<br />
in course load which would change the student’s st<strong>at</strong>us<br />
to full-time or reduce st<strong>at</strong>us to less than full-time; and 3)<br />
any resign<strong>at</strong>ion for a term <strong>of</strong> enrollment <strong>at</strong> ULM. These<br />
changes may affect a student’s VA benefits and could<br />
result in the student’s being required to repay funds to the<br />
Veterans Administr<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
N<strong>at</strong>ional Guard students who receive the st<strong>at</strong>e<br />
exemption to pay their tuition cannot be on prob<strong>at</strong>ion and<br />
must call 1-225-255-8304.<br />
Dependents <strong>of</strong> disabled or deceased veterans who<br />
are eligible to receive the st<strong>at</strong>e exemption must present<br />
their original stamped certific<strong>at</strong>e to Student Account<br />
Services, Coenen 102.<br />
