3015. BUSINESS FINANCE. 3 cr. The organiz<strong>at</strong>ion and financing <strong>of</strong><br />

a business enterprise; types <strong>of</strong> securities and their utiliz<strong>at</strong>ion in<br />

proportioning income, risk and control; financial analysis and<br />

forecasting, working capital management; selection <strong>of</strong> long term<br />

investments and determin<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> costs <strong>of</strong> capital; use <strong>of</strong> financial<br />

institutions for obtaining funds. Prerequisite: ACCT 1010 or 2013,<br />

3016. INTERMEDIATE CORPORATE FINANCE. 3 cr. Advanced<br />

topics in risk and return, bond and stock valu<strong>at</strong>ion, options<br />

and deriv<strong>at</strong>ives. Cost <strong>of</strong> capital, capital budgeting, and cash<br />

flow analysis. Corpor<strong>at</strong>e capital structure, financial planning,<br />

and credit policies. Mergers and acquisitions, corpor<strong>at</strong>e risk<br />

management, and multin<strong>at</strong>ional finance. Prerequisite: 3015.<br />

3023. REAL ESTATE FINANCE AND INVESTMENTS. 3 cr. The<br />

principles <strong>of</strong> finance as applied to the real est<strong>at</strong>e business;<br />

financial institutions, sources <strong>of</strong> financing, brokerage, property<br />

development, analysis <strong>of</strong> real est<strong>at</strong>e investment, and current<br />

development in real est<strong>at</strong>e. Prerequisite: FINA 2003 or approval<br />

3030. ENTREPRENEURIAL FINANCE. 3 cr. Financing <strong>of</strong> new and<br />

growing business enterprises; structuring, valuing, and pricing<br />

analysis and forecasting, capital budgeting, and working capital<br />

management in new, growing enterprises; l<strong>at</strong>er stage financing,<br />

4006. FUTURES AND OPTIONS CONTRACTS. 3 cr. A seminar<br />

introducing the principles <strong>of</strong> valu<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> futures and options<br />

instruments, contract design, hedging and specul<strong>at</strong>ive use.<br />

Emphasis on financial futures contracts and common stock put<br />

and call options. Prerequisites: 3015 and QMDS 2010. Sp<br />

4009. REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL. 3 cr. Fundamentals <strong>of</strong> appraising<br />

residential, commercial, and industrial real est<strong>at</strong>e. Prerequisite:<br />

4010. PRINCIPLES OF BANK OPERATIONS. 3 cr. Oper<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>of</strong><br />

commercial banks —analyzing deposits, payments, loans and<br />

money functions <strong>of</strong> commercial banks. Bank asset and liability<br />

management; internal controls and audits. Prerequisite: 3015 and<br />

ECON 3001.<br />

4011. REAL ESTATE LAW. 3 cr. Legal principles affecting ownership<br />

and/or management <strong>of</strong> real property in general, with special<br />

emphasis placed in <strong>Louisiana</strong> Law. Specific areas include<br />

transfers, deeds, leases, land contracts, escrows, title insurance,<br />

foreclosures, zonings, and recordings. Prerequisite: 3003 or<br />

approval <strong>of</strong> instructor. F<br />

4013. URBAN DEVELOPMENT. 3 cr. Measurement <strong>of</strong> urban<br />

obsolescence and deterior<strong>at</strong>ion. Planning concepts used to guide<br />

contemporary urban growth and allevi<strong>at</strong>e common problems.<br />

Governmental programs influencing urban development,<br />

including technical and financial assistance. Specific topics<br />

include comprehensive plans, zoning, land development, parks<br />

4014. CAPITAL MARKET SEMINAR. 3 cr. Applic<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> principles<br />
