5.03:15 Abusive, drunken, violent or excessively<br />

noisy behavior or expression on<br />

<strong>University</strong> property or <strong>at</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

authorized activities.<br />

5.03:16 Intentionally delaying, obstructing<br />

or resisting persons who identify<br />

themselves as Residential Life staff<br />

members, faculty members, <strong>University</strong><br />

Administr<strong>at</strong>ors, <strong>University</strong> Police Officers<br />

or other law enforcement <strong>of</strong>ficials, fire<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficials, or other <strong>University</strong> employees<br />

in the performance <strong>of</strong> their duty.<br />

Acts Contrary to Property Rights<br />

5.03:17 Trespassing.<br />

5.03:18 Vandalism, malicious or ignorant<br />

destruction, damage, disfigurement<br />

or misuse <strong>of</strong> public or priv<strong>at</strong>e property<br />

including library m<strong>at</strong>erials.<br />

5.03:19 Unauthorized entry or use <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

facilities or any viol<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

rules regarding the use <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

property.<br />

Acts Contrary to Individual Rights<br />

5.03:20 Discrimin<strong>at</strong>ory behavior against any<br />

member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> community.<br />

5.03:21 Engaging in oral or written speech<br />

th<strong>at</strong> is directed to inciting or producing<br />

imminent lawless action and/or is likely<br />

to incite or produce such action.<br />

5.03:22 Lewd, indecent, <strong>of</strong>fensive, or obscene<br />

behavior or the distribution <strong>of</strong> obscene<br />

or <strong>of</strong>fensive m<strong>at</strong>ter on or <strong>of</strong>f <strong>University</strong><br />

property; this standard includes similar<br />

behavior when utilizing telephones,<br />

answering machines, or com put er<br />

gener<strong>at</strong>ed m<strong>at</strong>erials, computers, sound<br />

systems.<br />

5.03:23 The thre<strong>at</strong> or commission <strong>of</strong> physical<br />

violence against any person on or <strong>of</strong>f<br />

<strong>University</strong> property or <strong>at</strong> any <strong>University</strong><br />

authorized event or other conduct which<br />

thre<strong>at</strong>ens the health or safety <strong>of</strong> any<br />

per son. This standard includes violence<br />

purposed to influence an employee’s<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficial action, and it includes intimid<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

and thre<strong>at</strong>s made toward the person<br />

bringing the charge or witnesses<br />

involved in any <strong>University</strong> disciplinary<br />

hearing. This may include cyberstalking<br />

as defined in Section 4 <strong>of</strong> the Student<br />

Policy Manual.<br />

5.03:24 Hazing in any form including action<br />

taken or situ<strong>at</strong>ion cre<strong>at</strong>ed, whether on<br />

or <strong>of</strong>f college or Uni ver si ty property,<br />

which is life thre<strong>at</strong>ening to the<br />

individual; and kidnapping, paddling,<br />

slapping, branding, burning with a<br />

cigarette, or any such activities which<br />

are life thre<strong>at</strong>ening to the individual<br />

or are intended to hurt or to humili<strong>at</strong>e<br />

physically or mentally. (Please refer<br />

to the Hazing Policy in the “Student<br />

Policy Manual” for a further completed<br />

definition <strong>of</strong> hazing.)<br />

5.03:25 Disrespect or inappropri<strong>at</strong>e behavior <strong>at</strong><br />

any time when dealing with students,<br />

<strong>University</strong> personnel, and the general<br />

public. This includes various degrees <strong>of</strong><br />

obscenities and pr<strong>of</strong>anities.<br />

5.03:26 Harassment <strong>of</strong> any member <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>University</strong> community. Stalking or the<br />

repe<strong>at</strong>ed following or harassing <strong>of</strong><br />

another person accompanied by the<br />

making <strong>of</strong> a credible thre<strong>at</strong> with the<br />

intent to place th<strong>at</strong> person in reasonable<br />

fear <strong>of</strong> de<strong>at</strong>h or serious injury (including<br />

e-mails, text-messaging and voice mail.)<br />

Acts Contrary to St<strong>at</strong>ed Policy<br />

5.03:27 Failure to comply with the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Louisiana</strong> System Board <strong>of</strong> Supervisors<br />

or <strong>University</strong> rules and regul<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

rel<strong>at</strong>ed to any areas within their<br />

jurisdiction, including but not limited<br />

to: library, residence halls and dining<br />

services, traffic, automobile usage,<br />

conduct on and <strong>of</strong>f campus, conduct in<br />

the classroom, organiz<strong>at</strong>ional activities,<br />

and use <strong>of</strong> building and physical plant.<br />

5.03:28 Failure <strong>of</strong> residence hall students, their<br />

guests or visitors to comply with those<br />

rules governing conduct <strong>of</strong> students<br />

residing in residence halls.<br />

5.03:29 Unauthorized occup<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> any<br />

<strong>University</strong> facility; unauthorized visit<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

in campus residence halls.<br />

5.03:30 Failure to produce identific<strong>at</strong>ion when<br />

requested by a <strong>University</strong> Police Officer,<br />

a residence hall staff member, or other<br />

identified <strong>University</strong> Official.<br />

5.03:31 Improper move out or check-in <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>University</strong> residence hall system.<br />

5.03:32 Unauthorized establishment <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fcampus<br />

residence.<br />

5.03:33 Failure to answer a <strong>University</strong> summons<br />

or to appear for a disciplinary hearing as<br />

outlined in this Code.<br />

Acts <strong>of</strong> Dishonesty, Misuse or Unauthorized<br />

Possession<br />

5.03:34 Viol<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong> Drug Policy<br />

to include: Unauthorized or illegal<br />

possession, use, distribution, sale,<br />

manufacture or transport<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong><br />

narcotics, stimulants, depressants,<br />

barbitur<strong>at</strong>es, sed<strong>at</strong>ives, tranquilizers,<br />

hallucinogens, drug paraphernalia,<br />

mar i jua na and/or other similarly known<br />

drugs and/or chemicals.<br />

5.03:35 Viol<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> <strong>University</strong> Alcohol Policy,<br />

to include: possession or consumption<br />

<strong>of</strong> alcoholic beverages or possession
