4056. MARINE FISH ECOLOGY. 3 cr. This course will explore the<br />

ecology <strong>of</strong> coastal marine fishes emphasizing aspects <strong>of</strong> how fish<br />

utilize coastal habit<strong>at</strong>s and how environmental factors influence<br />

the distribution, movement, growth, reproduction, abundance,<br />

and interspecific interactions <strong>of</strong> fishes especially their early life<br />

history stages. Prerequisites: 16 hours <strong>of</strong> biology or permission<br />

<strong>of</strong> the instructor. Three weeks. LUMCON Summer course;<br />

altern<strong>at</strong>ing years.<br />

4061. COASTAL FIELD GEOLOGY. 3 cr. Sedimentary environments,<br />

coastal processes, and environmental geological problems <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Mississippi delta plain. Prerequisites: GEOL 1001, 1002, 1003,<br />

1004; permission <strong>of</strong> instructor. Three weeks. LUMCON Summer<br />

4071. SPECIAL TOPICS IN MARINE SCIENCE. 1-6 cr. Maximum<br />

3004. SALES MANAGEMENT. 3 cr. Organiz<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> sales<br />

and maintaining sales personnel; budgeting; distribution cost<br />

analysis; special problems in managing an outside sales force.<br />

3005. PERSONAL SELLING. 3 cr. The fundamental principles <strong>of</strong><br />

selling; the economic problems connected with personal selling;<br />

3007. RETAILING. 3 cr. Marketing to ultim<strong>at</strong>e consumers. Oper<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

<strong>of</strong> a retail outlet; store organiz<strong>at</strong>ion, displays, loc<strong>at</strong>ion, layout,<br />

purchasing, retail advertising, product analysis, personnel<br />

management, store services, and oper<strong>at</strong>ing controls.<br />

3008. MARKETING RESEARCH. 3 cr. Modern marketing research<br />

techniques and their applic<strong>at</strong>ion by management to problems<br />

3011. ADVERTISING AND SALES PROMOTION. 3 cr. The nonpersonal<br />

promotion str<strong>at</strong>egies <strong>of</strong> modern business.<br />

Consider<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> budgets, media, messages, and timing <strong>of</strong><br />

3030. ENTREPRENEURIAL MARKETING. 3 cr. Marketing during the<br />

start up and growth stage <strong>of</strong> new ventures in a dynamic economy<br />

<strong>at</strong> the local, n<strong>at</strong>ional, and intern<strong>at</strong>ional level. Emphasis on the<br />

applic<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> marketing fundamentals in new growing ventures.<br />

Prerequisite: junior standing. (Same as ENTR 3053)<br />

4001. INTERNATIONAL. 3 cr. All phases <strong>of</strong> marketing as applied in an<br />

intern<strong>at</strong>ional oper<strong>at</strong>ion: research, marketing channels, promotion,<br />

financing, pricing, licensing, organiz<strong>at</strong>ion requirements, and<br />

methods <strong>of</strong> coordin<strong>at</strong>ion. Prerequisite: MRKT 3001. F<br />

4003. SERVICES MARKETING. 3 cr. Study <strong>of</strong> the special<br />

characteristics <strong>of</strong> service enterprises and the development <strong>of</strong><br />

4006. BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS MARKETING. 3 cr. Str<strong>at</strong>egies and<br />

tactics used in marketing complex technologies and services to<br />

industrial firms. Emphasis is given to value and vendor analysis<br />

as key elements in business-to-business marketing. Prerequisite:<br />

4009. MARKETING MANAGEMENT. 3 cr. Analysis <strong>of</strong> actual<br />

business situ<strong>at</strong>ions requiring decisions by marketing executives<br />

in the marketing mix and environmental areas <strong>of</strong> marketing.<br />

4010. PROFESSIONAL SELLING. 3 cr. An in-depth study <strong>of</strong><br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional selling. Emphasis is placed on negoti<strong>at</strong>ing skills,<br />

customer rel<strong>at</strong>ionship management, and general salesrel<strong>at</strong>ed<br />

topics including sales autom<strong>at</strong>ion, team selling, conflict<br />

resolution, ethical issues, and time/territory management.<br />

4011. INTEGRATED MARKETING CAMPAIGNS. 3 cr. The study <strong>of</strong><br />

integr<strong>at</strong>ed marketing communic<strong>at</strong>ion campaign str<strong>at</strong>egies used<br />

by businesses and non-pr<strong>of</strong>it organiz<strong>at</strong>ions. Students develop<br />

advertisements, public rel<strong>at</strong>ions releases, sales promotion tools,<br />

and direct marketing pieces to coincide with their campaign plan.<br />

4012. DIGITAL MARKETING. 3 cr. A study <strong>of</strong> digital marketing and<br />

its role in e-commerce and marketing communic<strong>at</strong>ions. Topics<br />

include social networks, blogs, branding, online advertising, and<br />

provide students with inform<strong>at</strong>ion and skills to support enduring<br />

3010. FOUNDATIONS OF MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY.<br />

3 cr. This course is designed to provide students with an<br />

understanding <strong>of</strong> marital and family interaction processes-the<br />

p<strong>at</strong>terns and dynamics <strong>of</strong> interactions with couples and families.<br />
