1003. STUDY ABROAD. 3-6 cr. Applic<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> language skills in a<br />
foreign language environment. Students will be involved in a total<br />
immersion living situ<strong>at</strong>ion and will receive a minimum <strong>of</strong> fifteen<br />
clock hours per week in formal language instruction. Prerequisite:<br />
a "C" or better in SPAN 1001 or permission <strong>of</strong> department head.<br />
1004. SPANISH FOR PROFESSIONS. 3 cr. An introduction to the<br />
vocabulary, terminology, and structures for developing basic<br />
Spanish skills for pr<strong>of</strong>essions. Prerequisite: SPAN 1002 or<br />
equivalent. (May not be used as part <strong>of</strong> a major or minor in<br />
Spanish.)<br />

emphasis on the grammar, reading, and convers<strong>at</strong>ion. Work<br />
in the computerized Language Learning Center is required.<br />

transl<strong>at</strong>ions <strong>of</strong> business m<strong>at</strong>erials in Spanish with continued<br />

2031. GRAMMAR AND COMPOSITION. 3 cr. A review and drill <strong>of</strong> the<br />
elements <strong>of</strong> Spanish grammar and syntax with special emphasis<br />

introduction to the outstanding writers <strong>of</strong> Spanish America from<br />

4025. SPANISH LANGUAGE PRACTICUM. 3-12 cr. Applic<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong><br />
language skills in a foreign-speaking environment. Student will<br />

prevention <strong>of</strong> children with special needs. (10 observ<strong>at</strong>ion hours<br />
required) Prerequisite: Must be admitted to Teacher Educ<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
and pass all applicable parts <strong>of</strong> PRAXIS.<br />
3010. BEHAVIOR SUPPORT AND INTERVENTIONS. 3 cr. Methods<br />
and techniques for effective behavior management and<br />
classroom organiz<strong>at</strong>ion to meet the unique needs <strong>of</strong> diverse<br />

4015. INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES IN SPECIAL EDUCATION.<br />
3 cr. Course develops educ<strong>at</strong>or competencies for teaching<br />
academic/social skills to special students and in developing tiered<br />
intervention plans for inclusive settings. Must be admitted to<br />
Teacher Educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
4020. ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION FOR SPECIAL LEARNERS. 3 cr.<br />
Develops assessment skills for instructional planning to meet<br />
the educ<strong>at</strong>ional needs <strong>of</strong> diverse learners with mild/moder<strong>at</strong>e<br />
disabilities. Addresses formal and informal assessments. Must<br />
be admitted to Teacher Educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
4025. COLLABORATIVE TEAMING AND TRANSITION. 3 cr. Teaches<br />
secondary educ<strong>at</strong>ion majors to integr<strong>at</strong>e reading, writing,<br />
speaking, and listening str<strong>at</strong>egies and activities into adolescent<br />
