styles and skills with applic<strong>at</strong>ion through simul<strong>at</strong>ed cases and role<br />

5059. SELECTED PSYCHIATRIC AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE<br />
DISORDER TOPICS. 3 cr. This course will expand the<br />
pharmacy students’ exposure to selected topics in behavioral<br />
health including pharmacotherapy <strong>of</strong> selected psychi<strong>at</strong>ric topics.<br />

5060. RETAIL PHARMACY. 3 cr. Managerial aspects in retail<br />
pharmacy practice with an emphasis on financial, oper<strong>at</strong>ional,<br />

5061. WOMEN’S HEALTH AND THE PHARMACIST. 3 cr. Practical<br />
inform<strong>at</strong>ion necessary to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to<br />
women in a wide variety <strong>of</strong> practice settings. Includes both social<br />
and therapeutic issues. Emphasis placed on drugs in pregnancy/<br />
lact<strong>at</strong>ion. Prerequisites: Third year pharmacy standing<br />
5062. BASIC STRATEGIES FOR SCHOLARLY COMMUNICATION.<br />
2 cr. The student will be responsible for producing pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
level educ<strong>at</strong>ion m<strong>at</strong>erial. The student will produce an article th<strong>at</strong><br />
will be submitted to a pharmacy journal along with a present<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
to faculty over their research. Prerequisite: Second year<br />

5063. VETERINARY PHARMACOTHERAPY. 3 cr. P<strong>at</strong>hogenesis,<br />
diagnosis, and r<strong>at</strong>ional therapeutic approaches to the tre<strong>at</strong>ment<br />

Introduction to clinical pharmacy careers with emphasis upon<br />

5066. MEDICAL OUTREACH EXPERIENCE. 2 cr. Introduction<br />
to various indigent popul<strong>at</strong>ions worldwide with specific focus<br />
on the history, medical practices, healthcare availability, and<br />
current needs <strong>of</strong> one geographic area. Students will work with<br />
an interdisciplinary medical team during a medical outreach<br />
experience to th<strong>at</strong> loc<strong>at</strong>ion. Prerequisite: credit or registr<strong>at</strong>ion in<br />

5067. PROBLEMS IN THERAPEUTICS. 3 cr. Student-centered small<br />

<strong>of</strong> topics th<strong>at</strong> demonstr<strong>at</strong>e integr<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>of</strong> pharmacy disciplines,<br />
important clinical and scientific principles and providing<br />

5068. LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS FOR DISEASE MANAGEMENT<br />
AND PREVENTION. 2 cr. This course will expand the students'<br />
knowledge <strong>of</strong> selected methods <strong>of</strong> lifestyle modific<strong>at</strong>ion in order<br />
to manage or prevent selected disease st<strong>at</strong>es. Prerequisite:<br />
