<strong>Het</strong> gebouw is fysiek toegankelijk voor ie<strong>de</strong>reen.<br />

Cleves School was built to be accessible for wheelchair users with specialised toilet and hygiene<br />

facilities for children and adults. As well as varied teach<strong>in</strong>g spaces the site <strong>in</strong>corporates large and<br />

small play spaces, access to the local park, a sensory studio, ball pool, soft play space and<br />

relaxation room. With regard to the physical environment, the school is a s<strong>in</strong>gle storey build<strong>in</strong>g with<br />

full access to all teach<strong>in</strong>g and toilet areas for children and adults with mobility difficulties. There are<br />

specialist hygiene facilities, which allow for medical and other personal needs of pupils and adults<br />

to be met with dignity. The <strong>de</strong>sign of the school build<strong>in</strong>g is unconventional, <strong>in</strong> that the school has<br />

four Open Plan W<strong>in</strong>gs: Early Years (Nursery and Reception groups), Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2),<br />

Key Stage 2A (years 3 and 4) and Key Stage 2B (years 5 and 6). The school also has a practical<br />

room with a kiln and facilities for clay work, two strong rooms and a multi-purpose-d<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g hall as<br />

well as a separate large hall with a sprung flo or, which has a wi<strong>de</strong> range of PE apparatus. There is<br />

also a specialist sensory studio that is timetabled for all children to use, a soft playroom <strong>in</strong> the Early<br />

Years W<strong>in</strong>g, a ball pool <strong>in</strong> the foyer and a relaxation room for each w<strong>in</strong>g to use. F<strong>in</strong>ally, the<br />

playground has recently been <strong>de</strong>veloped and now has a stage, seats, musical <strong>in</strong>struments,<br />

climb<strong>in</strong>g wall, goal posts, climb<strong>in</strong>g frames and more.<br />

There is a playtime at lunchtime but there are no playtimes <strong>in</strong> the morn<strong>in</strong>g or afternoon; <strong>in</strong>stead,<br />

many opportunities for physical activities and social <strong>in</strong>teraction are built <strong>in</strong>to the daily curriculum.<br />

Lunchtime is seen as part of the curriculum with lots of adults support<strong>in</strong>g children and hav<strong>in</strong>g lunch<br />

with them. The curriculum organisation is structured <strong>in</strong> a similar way to a secondary school, for<br />
