−Round Table Style
A round table formation will be quite a bit different from the typical
theater style formation. In this arrangement, the chairs will be
centered around a number of tables that are dispersed throughout the
room. This configuration is most useful for any type of event that
will be serving a meal. Because people will already be sitting at a
table, it will be much easier for them to eat without the need to
move around.
In addition to this, the wait staff will be able to keep track of what
each person ordered. The way the tables are set up will also give
them plenty of room to move from table to table while carrying trays
of food. Since the speed of this portion of the event is important, a
round table format can be incredibly useful.
Round table arrangements can also be great for any sort of event that
will require people to work in groups. Many speakers include an
interactive portion of their presentation. They may, for example,
give a list of sample properties and have the audience break up into
groups so they can put the lessons to work. Using the round table
format for the seating means the audience is already set up in
groups, which will help everything move smoothly.
When choosing to use this style, consider the size of the room and
the number of attendees. Each table should only hold about six to
eight people. This gives everyone plenty of room to eat, set up their
computers or just sit comfortably. The stage will still be the main
focus for the audience, so the tables should be staggered in a fashion
similar to the theater style arrangement. Due to the nature of this
seating style, it may be a good idea to assign seats.
−Classroom Style
A classroom style seating arrangement is great for long seminars.
