RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL REIA MEETING
When you're doing an event with a selling speaker, it's important
that you get them started as quickly as possible. Many REIA
meetings run with a schedule similar to what you see below for a
weeknight meeting. Of course, larger weekend events with multiple
speakers will look drastically different from what you see below, but
once you understand what happens during a general meeting,
planning a larger event will be that much easier. (We'll break each
one of these timeframes down further in a moment.)
• 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm: Open Networking
• 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm: Official meeting begins. Announcements
take place, forced networking and "Haves and Wants" take place
(more on this in a minute). Host gets audience pumped up, ready
for the main speaker. Host announces main speaker.
• 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm: Featured Speaker takes the stage,
provides great training, then towards the end of the presentation,
drives people to the back of room to sign up for whatever
package(s) are offered.
• 9:00 pm to 9:20 pm: People flock to the back table, fill out
order forms, payments are processed, and purchasers are
delivered products and given instructions on what to do next (if
anything).
• 9:30 pm: Event is over. Begin clearing out the room/cleanup,
etc...
6-7 pm - Open Networking
People love to network with other investors. Leave time for it before
the official meeting starts. I've seen a lot of REIA clubs provide
food during this time, which is a great hook for getting people into
the room early. Not only does this provide for great networking
time, it also helps to get your main meeting started on time. If done
