just no fun, it doesn't do anything to help create the energy needed
when the speaker gets on stage.
Regardless of the type of event, I can't stress to you the importance
of building up energy in the room. Have you ever been to a
restaurant that had a handful of people inside but was dead quiet? I
know I have. What were your thoughts as you entered this
restaurant? Did you walk in feeling like you were about to have the
time of your life? Most likely you spoke to whoever you were with
in a low quiet tone, hoping not to disturb the sheer silence taking
place throughout the rest of the room.
Why do bars and restaurants play music? They want to create an
environment that is conducive to people having a great time. Why?
Because when people are having fun, they spend more money. A
great time starts with environment, and environment and energy is
created, in part, with sound.
What am I getting at here? Play some music at your events! I can't
tell you how many events I've gone to where there were a hundred
or more people in a room and the room was dead silent. At our
REIA meetings and bootcamps, we crank up music over the P.A.
system. We have upbeat, up-tempo music playing until it’s time to
start. People are socializing and networking, they're having a great
time, and the energy is high. Our staff is high-fiving people as they
walk in; we're having a great time, we love what we do, and it
shows! This is not a funeral session; we're hosting these events to
teach people how to totally transform the quality of their lives by
creating wealth faster than they can create it in any other capacity!
Why wouldn't we be excited about this?
Having music playing creates an environment that is fun. Even if
there are only ten people in the room, a room with music being
played just seems like more fun than a room without it. It all starts
with perception, and sound in the room creates the perception of
activity and fun.
