RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL REIA MEETING
event (as long as I have the attendee list). Naturally, I would never
charge for this service because it's an opportunity for both me and
the REIA to increase sales and make even more money together.
And we still split the proceeds just like at the live event.
Don't be afraid to talk with your speaker and ask if they can help
follow up with people who attended the event. Not every speaker
will have a team of people who can handle it. Speakers like us have
made speaking at REIA events a significant portion of our business,
but some speakers will simply be too busy. Either way, make sure
you're absolutely clear on who will handle this process. It doesn't set
a very professional atmosphere when one REIA member gets a call
from three different people in your organization asking the exact
same follow up questions.
Contacting Your Opt-In List
As we discussed in chapter two, your group's website should be
helping you build an extensive list of email addresses. These will be
people who are interested in your group and the information you
present. It doesn't matter where they live. Most will be close to
where your group meets, while others will simply be interested in
any online information.
After the event, don't be afraid to send out another email to your list
letting them know how awesome the event was. This will serve two
purposes. First, it will keep the event fresh in the minds of those
who attended it, encouraging them to stay in contact and attend the
next event. Secondly, it will give those who missed the event a
chance to keep up and see what they missed out on.
When you contact your list after the event make sure to promote the
speaker. Even though the event is over, you can still leverage the
speaker to help promote your group while potentially increasing
sales at the same. Rather than simply mentioning the speaker, you
should include an affiliate link (supplied by the speaker).
