RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL REIA MEETING
show the rest of the world how active your group is and how much
fun the events can be.
The photos should focus not only on the speaker but on the audience
as well. The goal is to help people imagine themselves at the event.
A good picture can say more than pages and pages of written text. If
you're neglecting to take pictures at your events, you're basically
ignoring one of the most effective forms of communication
available to you.
Videos are even more effective than photos. While you may not
want to post a video of the entire presentation, a montage of short
clips can be a great way to build interest in your group. These videos
are wonderful promotional tools and can be created with very little
effort. A short video clip can be viewed quickly and will deliver a
significant amount of information regarding your group. Think of
this video as a commercial. It's designed to show how great your
events are in only a few seconds.
Speaking of commercials, video testimonials of the event are worth
their weight in gold and are about the best commercials you could
ever ask for! Having a videographer walk around after an event with
a camera works well. It doesn't have to be professional. You don't
have to solicit testimonials, nor do you have to have special lighting,
a camera crew, special microphones, etc. All those things are great,
but just keep it simple. Just have a guy with the camera walk right
up to people that attended the meeting and ask questions. Here are a
few questions he may ask:
−"What was your favorite part about tonight?"
−"What's one thing you learned tonight that you think will make
a difference in your business this year?"
−"What did you like most about the featured speaker tonight?"
