RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL REIA MEETING
given away is also worth money, like a book, for example, the
demand is even higher.
A good speaker should also be a good sales person and so they need
to understand this fact of life. Giving something away can often lead
to greatly increased sales and an improved interest in the material
being presented. Your speaker should have at least one product
which they are willing to give away, but it should never be their best
product. The giveaway should also never be something that will
deter the audience from purchasing the end product offer either. For
example, I would never give away my free 300-page eBook on how
to rehab a house if I'm also selling a rehabbing course at the live
event. If I did this, people might hold off on ordering the course
until they've had a chance to go through the free book first. Sounds
simple, but this one thing done incorrectly will reduce sales.
More importantly, a free giveaway can drive people to the sales
table. I've actually done this myself and have seen how effective it
can be. What I give away is a copy of one of my books, the same
one you can find in bookstores. The only way the audience can get
their copy, however, is by stopping at the sales table and picking it
up. A free product will get people rushing to the back of the room.
When there is excitement built up around the back of the room, sales
increase.
Samples Of Their Products
When you let a speaker sell their products to your group, you are
putting your own name on what they sell. This means you need to
understand what the speaker is selling and be able to determine if
the products are any good. A good speaker will be more than willing
to give you some free samples so you can gain a better
understanding of the products.
In the past, we've often provided online samples of the training
materials to REIAs in advance of being officially booked there.
