275. On 12/13/00, Skilling was named <strong>Enron</strong>'s CEO to succeed Lay. Lay was quoted as<br />

"<strong>The</strong> best time for the succession to occur is when the company is doing<br />

well," said Lay, who said revenue could top $90 billion this year, up from about<br />

$40 billion in 1999. "<strong>Enron</strong> is doing extremely well now."<br />

276. On 12/18/00, <strong>Enron</strong> issued a release stating:<br />

<strong>Enron</strong> Broadband Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary <strong>of</strong> <strong>Enron</strong> <strong>Corp</strong>. and<br />

Blockbuster Inc. announced today they have begun delivering movies via the<br />

Blockbuster Entertainment On-Demand service over <strong>Enron</strong>'s broadband network in<br />

Seattle, Portland, Ore. and Salt Lake City. <strong>The</strong> initial launch fulfills the goal set<br />

forth by the companies to deliver the entertainment on-demand service to<br />

consumers' televisions by the end <strong>of</strong> this year.<br />

"As this market launch demonstrates, we have the infrastructure in place<br />

through our alliance with <strong>Enron</strong> and our other partners to deliver a quality<br />

broadband use."<br />

<strong>of</strong> coming unwound as they lacked any sufficient credit capacity to support their existing obligations,<br />
