Leadbeater su comprensión el recuerdo de que todo mineral debe tener sus contrapartes astral y mental, y que los tipos especiales de materia de estas contrapartes son, en sus respectivos planos, manifestaciones de la mónada mineral, por lo que se puede suponer que mediante dichas manifestaciones la mónada evoluciona durante su existencia en los niveles superiores. El alma grupal siempre debe contener en sí posibilidades latentes relacionadas con los planos superiores a través de los cuales descendió; y podría ser que en aquellas etapas de evolución dichas posibilidades se actualizaran por algún método totalmente diferente de los que nos son familiares. Sin el desarrollo de las facultades psíquicas no podremos comprender al pormenor el desarrollo oculto en esas excelsas esferas de materia sutil. lo importante es convencernos de que, si bien en determinada época, la gran oleada de vida reside solamente en un globo de nuestra cadena, los demás globos no están en absoluto dormidos y que en todos los puntos de nuestra cadena se realiza continuamente un progreso útil. He procurado describir tan claramente como me ha sido posible, las sucesivas oleadas de vida; pero, por si acaso quedase alguna duda en la mente de los lectores no acostumbrados al estudio de este sistema de cosmogonía, añado un diagrama que me parece una ayuda muy conveniente. Las columnas verticales indican las sucesivas cadenas de nuestra evolución, y las divisiones horizontales representan los diversos reinos de la naturaleza. Las flechas en diagonal son las oleadas sucesivas de evolución que han emanado del Logos. Las cifras arábigas estampadas al margen de las flechas se aplican tan sólo a éstas, y no a los cuadrados horizontales. La longitud de las flechas es variable a consecuencia únicamente de que las miramos desde el punto de vista de nuestro plan de evolución. Dentro de los límites de este plan, la flecha número 1 cruza únicamente el reino humano; pero esto no significa en absoluto que la oleada representada por esta flecha no haya pasado por las seis etapas anteriores. Significa tan sólo que estas seis etapas anteriores transcurrieron en un plan precedente. lo mismo sucede en el ángulo opuesto del diagrama. La flecha número 13 sólo cruza el primer reino elemental; pero, inevitablemente, a su debido tiempo tendrá que pasar por todos los demás reinos, aunque no en este plan de evolución que ya termina en dicho punto del diagrama. Únicamente se ve totalmente la evolución del primer reino elemental correspondiente a la séptima oleada de vida. Si consideramos la columna de una cadena cualquiera, por ejemplo, la cuarta, que es nuestra cadena e indica nuestro estado actual de evolución, veremos, pasando la vista en sentido vertical de la columna que la atraviesan siete flechas correspondientes a los siete reinos de la naturaleza. Siguiendo cualquiera de estas flechas hacia atrás o hacia adelante, determinaremos la situación de cualquiera de los reinos en el pasado o en el futuro. Conviene advertir que las 136
