The disease occurs as a seedling blight, foot rot and head blight. The blighted seedlings are<br />

characterized by a light brown to reddish-brown water-soaked rot and blight either before or"<br />

after emergence. The spike blight causes a water-soaked appearance, followed by the loss<br />

<strong>of</strong> green color. During warm humid weather, the fungus causes the spiklets to appear pink<br />

in color. The kernels are shriveled with a scabby appearance.<br />

Le morbose manifesta como necrosis de <strong>plant</strong>ulas, putrefaction radical, e necrosis de inflorescentias.<br />

Le <strong>plant</strong>ulas necrotic se characterisa per un putrefaction e necrosis aquose brun clar o<br />

brun-rubiette o ante o post emergentia. Le necrosis del spica ha un aspecto aquose e plus tarde<br />

perdita del color verde. In tempore calide e humide, le fungo face !e spiculas semblar de<br />

color rosee. Le granos es crispate e ha un aspecto crustose.<br />

La maladie apparatt comme une brlure des semis, une pourriture des racines et une brrlure<br />

de l'ipi. Les semis atteints sont caract6risds yar une pourriture ddtrempde, brun pLe h brun<br />

rouge~tre, et se fl~trissent avant ou apres l'emergence. La brflure de l'epi produit un aspect<br />

d6tremp6, suivi de la perte de la couleur verte. Par temps chaud et humide, le champignor.<br />

donne aux cpillets une couleur rosee. Les grains sont ratatinds et ont une apparence galeuse.<br />

La enfermedad aparece como un tiz(on de la <strong>plant</strong>ula, podredumbre del pi4 y tizon de la parte<br />

superior. Las <strong>plant</strong>ulas con tizon se caracterizan por la podredumbre de color caf4 claro a<br />

cafe-rojizo, empapada de agua y el tizon ya sea antes o despu~s de la emergencia. El tiz6n<br />

en la espiga provoca una apariencia empapada de agua, seguida por la p~rdida del color verde.<br />

Durante 6pocas c6lidas y hfimedas, el hongo causa que las espfculas tengan un color rosado.<br />

Los granos so arrugan y tienen una apariencia costrosa.<br />
