Identification Elements:<br />

Primary signature<br />

Laser Red against a dark neutral<br />

When the space available for product identification<br />

is sufficient, the primary signature is used.<br />

In this example, the signature typography contains<br />

the communicative name of the component,<br />

“<strong>GE</strong> Medical Systems.” This name is useful as product<br />

identification because it serves a dual function:<br />

It identifies the source of the product while<br />

suggesting that the product is part of a group of<br />

interrelated products.<br />

Note: When the communicative name of a component<br />

or affiliate is used in product identification,<br />

it must appear in a primary, compact, or vertical<br />

signature. A communicative name may not be used<br />

outside a graphic signature nor in a special<br />

signature.<br />

The signature is positioned in an asymmetrical<br />

layout on the product. By extending the Laser Line<br />

to bleed left off the format and positioning the<br />

other signature elements to the right, the qualities<br />

of dynamism and innovation are emphasized.
