Two- & Three-Column Grids<br />

for Print Presentations<br />

To display a list of short items in a<br />

print presentation, use two or three<br />

narrow columns. They will allow<br />

more copy to fit on a page.<br />

A two- or three-column grid is also<br />

useful for long paragraphs of copy,<br />

since it is easier to read a tall,<br />

narrow block of short lines than<br />

a short, wide block of long lines.<br />

Whenever possible, use the same<br />

typeface and size in two- and threecolumn<br />

grids as are used in onecolumn<br />

grids in the presentation.<br />

If necessary to accommodate more<br />

information, the typeface and size<br />

may be different from the standard<br />

body text used in the presentation<br />

(for example, smaller or condensed),<br />

but in that case, use this same typeface<br />

and size in all other two- or<br />

three-column displays throughout<br />

the presentation.
