When the appointment is scheduled, LEADER
will default the following case comments in the
Case Comments screen:
Mandatory Participant (Drug Felon cases)
“Direct Rent forms initiated on MM/DD/YYYY
due to Drug Conviction after 12/31/97.”
What should occur on the day of the Direct Rent
appointment?
The DR EW:
Explores good cause again during the Direct
Rent interview. If good cause exists, it must be
entered on LEADER.
Reviews the PA 6030 with the mandatory
participant or PA 6030-1 with the voluntary
participant.
The participant must initial each area
reviewed and sign the form to acknowledge
that he/she has received the information.
It is of utmost importance that the PA
6030/PA 6030-1 be reviewed with the
participant to ensure that the participant
understands his/her responsibilities to report
information that will affect the Direct Rent
payment within 14 calendar days before the
next rental payment (first of the month). This
includes:
o Reporting address change/intent to move.
If the address change is not reported timely, it
may be too late to stop the Direct Rent
payment and will go to the previous landlord.
o Reporting withholding of rent for repairs.
If the information is not reported timely, it may
be too late to stop the Direct Rent payment
and will go to the landlord.
o Understands that if the Direct Rent payment
only pays for a portion of the rent for the
month, he/she is responsible for any
remaining rent or balances.
