Adds the landlord as a vendor to LEADER per
existing procedures;
Sends the district DR EW a User-to-User FAC
including the vendor number when the vendor
has been added;
Stamps the PA 6029 as “Processed by SOS”
and returns to the DR EW via County mail;
Scans and files the W-9 form on a CD. The
electronic version is stored for use in
local/State/federal audits;
Files the hard copy of the W-9 form for 60 days.
NOTE: The W-9 is not returned to the district
office. Following the 60-day period,
SOS will dispose of the W-9 hardcopy
via existing protocols for handling
sensitive/confidential materials.
What action must the DR EW take once SOS has
added the landlord as a vendor to LEADER?
Upon receipt of the FAC from SOS indicating that
the landlord has been added as a vendor on
LEADER, the DR EW must designate Direct Rent
payments by selecting the vendor from the list in the
Display Vendor Summary screen.

Activities
Are there Direct Rent reports available?
Yes, the following reports are available on the
DPSS Portal on the 1 st of each month:
CalWORKs Direct Rent Monthly Detail Report
The report includes all district cases with Direct
Rent payments (mandatory and voluntary).
CalWORKs Drug Felon Without Direct Rent
Designated Monthly Detail Report
The report includes district cases with a drug
felon without Direct Rent payments.
