• The participant receives interest from a
restricted account sent by the bank, credit
union, etc. and does not put the interest back
into the restricted account within 30 calendar
days after getting the money.
Note: Interest not deposited back into the
restricted account is not affected by the
elimination of the $5,000 cap. Therefore,
the POI remains.
When it has been determined that POI is
applicable, the POI shall begin on the first day of
the month of the next QR Payment Quarter
following the nonqualifying withdrawal, and will
continue for the calculated number of months.
EXAMPLE 1:
QR Cycle 3 – July/August/September Quarter.
An AU made a qualified withdrawal of $3500 on
09/01. The AU reported the withdrawal to the EW
on 09/02. Verification was not provided.
The AU should be given 30 days to provide the
verification (30 days from the date of the
withdrawal 09/01). If the participant fails to
provide, the case would be discontinued effective
12/31 and a POI set.
EXAMPLE 2:
QR Cycle 3 - July/August/September Quarter.
An AU made a qualified withdrawal of $3500 on
07/01. The AU reported the withdrawal to the EW
on 08/02. Verification was not provided.
The AU is to be given 10 days to provide
verification. In this example the AU reported the
withdrawal after 30 days.
If the AU fails to provide the verification, the case
should be discontinued effective 09/30 and a POI
