Compile Report Card Compile Report Card The report card or interim must be compiled successfully before teachers can use it to enter grades on the Report Card Entry screen. GradeBook runs numerous verifications to make sure the report card is set up properly. Once the report card has been compiled, each time it is changed, it must be recompiled. The status displays in the Compile Results column on the Report Cards screen where you can easily see if the report card contains warnings or errors. 1. On the Web site banner, click the Compile link. The compiled report card or interim displays in a separate browser window listing any warnings or errors that were detected during compilation. A reference number displays next to the description of each warning or error. This reference number is used for troubleshooting purposes by GradeBook Support personnel. Error and Warning Messages from the Compile Tab The following warnings and/or errors may occur: • Warning – Potential errors were found during compilation, but teachers can use the report card to enter grades on the Report Card Entry screen. It is recommended to investigate the warnings and try to correct any issues. • Critical error – Errors were found during compilation that prevent the report card from displaying and teachers from entering grades on the Report Card Entry screen until they are corrected. • Severe error – Errors were found during compilation that prevent teachers from entering grades on the Report Card Entry screen until they are corrected. If there are no warnings or errors, the following message displays. “Congratulations, no errors were found! The report card compiled successfully.” Proceed with step 7. 2. If there are any warnings or errors, review the description, and then click the Go link. The screen where the issue occurred that caused the warning or error displays behind the Compiled Report Card/Interim screen. 3. Troubleshoot the issue(s) as needed. 4. Return to the Compiled Report Card/Interim screen, and then click Refresh. 328 ProgressBook GradeBook System Manager Guide
Compile Report Card If the warning or error was corrected, it does not display in the list. Proceed with step 5. If the warning or error was not corrected, repeat step 2 through step 4 until the issue is corrected. If you cannot correct the issue, follow your appropriate GradeBook support channel. 5. On the Web site banner, click the Compile link again. 6. If the report card compiled without critical or severe errors, close the Compile Report Card/Interim screen. 7. On the Web site banner, click the General tab. 8. Select the Active report card mode to make the report card available to teachers to enter grades. 9. Click Save. 10. On the Web site banner, click the Compile link for the final time. 11. Close the Compile Report Card/Interim screen. Note: If you have to make changes to a report card in Active mode, you must first change the report card mode to Testing. Note: You can compile a report card without opening it on the Report Cards screen by clicking the Compile All Active Changed Report Cards link or by clicking in the Actions column.
